NZ Burton Open World Heli-Challenge The World Heli Challenge consists of 3 days of helicopter-accessed competition, staged over a two-week period to allow for perfect weather conditions. Athletes vie for top honours in Extreme, Free Ride and Downhill events and the coveted overall World Heli Challenge Champion. Cardrona Snow Farm Snow Park Treble Cone Volkl New Zealand Free Ski Open The Volkl NZ Freeski Open presented by the Royal NZ Air Force is the pinnical extreme freeski event in the Southern Hemisphere attracting the best skiers in the world. Snow Park will host the halfpipe and slopestyle while The Remarkables and Treble Cone hold the big mountain Event. The Burton New Zealand Open is an established annual event within the Burton family. With 6 years already under its belt, the New Zealand Open kick-starts Burton's 2010 Global Open Series.
This years event sees the NZO return to its place of origin, Cardrona Alpine Resort, and will comprise of Half Pipe and Slopestyle disciplines. Open yet again promises to be the pinnacle of the New Zealand winter calendar..
